ABOUT
Coosa Valley Medical Center (often called CVMC) is the area’s most modern acute-care hospital, which opened its West Wing in June of 2007. We are an independent, community, non-profit medical center accredited by the Joint Commission with 168 licensed beds. This includes 148 acute-care beds and a 20-bed Senior Behavioral Unit.
We are based in Sylacauga, Alabama, 40 miles southeast of Birmingham. However, our service area extends throughout five counties and has a population of approximately 62,000 people. Coosa Valley Medical Center’s Care Team remains the largest employer in the city of Sylacauga, with 550+ team members, 40 volunteers, nearly 112 physicians credentialed to practice along with an additional 46 physician assistants/nurse practitioners. The hospital has a state-of-the-art 168-bed facility, with plans for added services on the horizon. In addition to our inpatient services, we operate a 13-bed Level III Emergency Department that treats approximately 30,000 patients annually. We also offer Ambulatory/Outpatient Services that treat over 80,000 patients each year.
Coosa Valley Medical Center has a long history of providing quality care and service to our communities. Through our medical center and staff, we can offer a wide variety of clinical services and medical staff specialties. Since opening our new acute-care facility, the West Wing, we have embarked on many other significant renovations and service expansion projects. We are constantly striving to meet the needs of our communities better.
